Picking out Samsung Galaxy S4 or iPhone 5 is a hard choice, better think carefully before getting either of them.

Samsung Galaxy S4 and iPhone 5S are the two most widely commented smartphones in the mobile world and they both have fans and haters. We, the team of Phones Review, can’t help but share our opinion – we are definitely for Samsung Galaxy S4. Moreover, if we compare the prices of the two phones and read the comparison below, you will see that one of the devices is much more worth buying than the other. However, we will write one just and unbiased comparison and after reading it you can decide whether to get a unit or not. Before proceeding to the actual specification and feature listing, we will just remind you that the predecessor of Samsung Galaxy S4Samsung Galaxy S3 won the award of GSMA 2013 for best device

Apple claims to pay great attention on the design of its products. The company prefers to ‘keep it fit’ and so their displays are smaller and the devices are long and narrow. On the other hand, when compared to some of the big screen massive handsets on the market, iPhone 5 looks like a toy. iPhone 5, however, is easy to handle with one hand as it is light and compact. In contrast to the metal body of iPhone 5, Samsung Galaxy S4 is made of plastic. It feels quite comfortable although some people think the 5-inch display would be an inconvenience. The corners of the phone are smooth and rounded and the glossy plastic is very easy and pleasant to hold.

When it comes to design, iPhone 5 is easier to use, but Samsung Galaxy S4 has a larger screen.

Of course, if you use your phone to play games or to view multimedia content, the 5-inch display of Samsung Galaxy S4 will provide you with better experience than the 4-inched iPhone 5. When it comes to quality, both displays are fabulous, with vibrant natural colours, high contrast levels and wide viewing angles. So, the displays are different, but we can’t say which one is better, It is up to the customer’s preference.

There is not much to say here, as we all know what are the advantages and disadvantages of the both systems. Samsung Galaxy S4 comes with the latest Android version – Jelly Bean 4.2.2, while iPhone 5 comes with iOS 6. The more flexible system is surely the Android, which is optimized by the developers with the TouchWiz Nature and allows you to do whatever you want and set everything according to your taste. Moreover, the system gives you numerous features like the Smart Stay, the Air View and the Dual Shot – things that Apple hasn’t even tried to integrate in iPhone 5. iOS 6, on the other hand, is easier to master and work with as it allows you no customization. What you get from the box is what you will use. However, the system is to the liking of a lot of people, who doesn’t want to choose, think or play with settings – it is very intuitive.  Don’t forget that iPhone 5, in contrast to Samsung Galaxy S4, doesn’t support flash.

Samsung Galaxy S4 comes with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, which is much more flexible and functional than the iOS 6 of iPhone 5.

When we talk about hardware and specifications, Samsung Galaxy S4 is the beasty phone. In fact, it is the best mobile device in the world when it comes to specs and features. There are two versions of the smartphone – one of them is using the octa-core Exynos 5 Octa processor, which is based on the big.LITTLE technology and is clocked at 1.6GHz, while the other sports the 1.9GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600. Both chipsets are more than powerful and are backed up with 2GB RAM. iPhone, on the other hand, comes with a dual-core processor A6 clocked at 1.3GHz and its operative memory is 1GB. The excuse of Apple is that the iOS is a non-demanding system and can function without the need of too powerful hardware. When it comes to storage, Samsung Galaxy S4 offers 3 versions – 16GB, 32GB or 64GB. All the three versions support microSD card for additional memory. iPhone 5, on the other hand, comes in the same versions, but doesn’t support additional memory.  Both devices support LTE and HSPA+ connectivity, so don’t worry about the download speed, it will be 42.2Mbit/s. They both have a Bluetooth 4.0, too, but Samsung has an IR blaster too, which gives you the opportunity to use it as a remote control for your TV and other sets.

We have to say that both cameras are gorgeous, but very different. When it comes to features, however, iPhone 5 has only three of them – HDR, Grid and Flash, while Samsung Galaxy S4 will provide you with different settings, effects and shooting modes. The difference in the resolutions matter, though. The 13MP camera of Samsung Galaxy S4 makes more natural and detailed pictures with realistic colours than the 8MP shooter of iPhone 5. The indoor shots are better when they are made with Samsung Galaxy S4 as it has a better LED flash. When it comes to HD 1080p video, the difference is too slight to notice, but the sound recording is better with the Samsung’s microphone.

Both the cameras of Samsung Galaxy S4 and iPhone 5 are fabulous, but it seems that the second has advantage.

All in all, Samsung Galaxy S4 and iPhone 5 are quite different and that’s why it was not easy to compare them. Samsung Galaxy S4 is a beast when it comes to specifications, has a better camera and better display. For those, who like smaller devices, iPhone will be the choice with its metal body and smaller display. Our opinion, however, is that Samsung Galaxy S4 is the best mobile device in the world and it is easily much better than iPhone 5. However, everyone has the right to decide. Good luck with the choosing!
